Welcome
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. This blog gives you the chance to see my passion in the form of images. Images captured for myself. For others. For the pure joy that they bring to me and those around me.
In my blog you will find images and moments shared to bring joy to you as well. |
"After all this time?" "Always." - Severus Snape (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) Let me start this post by admitting that I am not a wedding photographer. They stress me out. The idea of someone's day that is so special and the photographic evidence of that day being in my hands gives me a nervous stomach. BUT....when your mom calls you up and says that she recommended you to do her cousin's daughter's wedding and it's going to be "super laid back" and also offers to be the second shooter at said wedding, you say yes. Because your mom believes in you. So you gotta believe in yourself! As I started talking with the mother of the bride and the bride herself, I soon found out that this was my tribe. This couple were geeks! Praise the Lord! This was the day I had been training for! The bride, Cassie, chose to, instead of saying yes to a brand new dress, wear her mother's dress! It was all lace, buttons, and ribbon. And boy was it perfect for this bride! There were so many small geeky details to this wedding! The groomsmen's boutonnieres, the bouquet, the cake, the glasses, the songs chosen. It was Heaven! It was such a beautiful wedding! There was an extra special touch done just for the bride's father. As they began the walk down the aisle, the ushers laid out a special runner that Cassie got her dad to read as they made the walk toward her future husband. After the ceremony, we pulled the bridal party aside for pictures (some a little more geeky than others) as well as portraits of the happy couple! Then it was on to the reception! Who doesn't love a good line dance!? First dances, cake, toasts, and the venue even has a special room where each couple signs their name on the wall. It was another special touch to make the day perfect. We ended the night with a sparkler exit! This venue was beautiful! This couple was beautiful! The small, meaningful details sprinkled throughout were beautiful. This was my family. And I am so glad that I trusted my mom and her faith in me to capture this day for them! Congratulations, Cassie and Jonathan. May your love last to Mordor and back.
